I got my hundredth comment today!!!

Thank you all , I just love reading them!!

Sleeping Beauty

First we'll start with the cute sleeping dog picture. Look how he holds his back feet with his front foot. Too cute!!!!!! This was the other night. Right now he is in the exact same position minus the toy duck.
I've been busy setting up a shop at Etsy. Everyone always tells me I should sell my stuff so I decided its time to give it a try. So I have spent the last week making things to sell there. I'm working on that and my last sock for my uncles pair. I got half way thru the leg portion last night. Tonight I'm working on a baby sweater/pant set in camo to put on etsy. Right now I have 5 American Girl doll outfits and a baby dress. If you have the time please check it out and let me know what you think.
Then there is Ravelry. I've managed to do my profile, add 3 friends and join one group. I go to do other things but it really looks like it takes a lot of work and forethought to set up patterns and projects and things like that.
I think I've got you caught up on everything I've been up to. Talk to you soon.
Ciao!

One sock down, one to go

I finished the first Guitar Man sock for Uncle Kev. It is so big! Size 11. I didn't realize how big that actually was. I love this pattern, it works up so quickly. After I finished the heel and gusset I started on the foot, I figured I was about 5" into the 10" I needed I was actually 7" into the foot. I wrote down how many repeats I completed so I won't have to measure the foot on the second one.

I'm also working on some American Girl Doll outfits. I want to set up a shop at Etsy, I figure 6 outfits is a good start. Then I'll add some baby clothes too.

Well House is starting, Ta for now!

Uncle Socks

This is one of the Guitar man socks I'm making for my uncle for his birthday. I've done 6 repeats so far. There are 10 all together. I will be doing 11 because I was told that this yarn shrinks 10%. I'm really liking knitting these. It goes pretty quickly. There are 12 rows to each pattern repeat, I can usually do 2 in one sitting. The yarn is nice to work with too. I'm using Knitpicks Essential. Well thats about it. See ya tomorrow.

Armhole Tutorial

I have had some questions about making the armholes on the baby sweaters. I've taken some pictures and hope this helps you if you don't understand the written directions. I haven't made all the rows just enough to show you what to do and I used 2 different colors to show you where to join to make the armholes.

1. This is where you should be on the last row before the shaping.

2. DC across to first 3dc group, DC in the middle stitch of the group. (shown in purple) Ch 4 or whatever is called for in the pattern.

3. Skip all stitches until the next 3DC group and DC in middle stitch of that group. You can see now how the armhole is formed.

4. Now DC across to next 3dc group and repeat steps 2 and 3. DC across to end and you now have armholes!

Armhole made.

Socks OTN

I started knitting a pair of socks for my uncle for his birthday. He loves when you give him socks so I'm thinking hand knitted should really make his day. I'm using Knitpicks Essential yarn in Shale. And the Guitar Man sock pattern from Whimisical knitting. I've got the ribbing and first repeat of the pattern done. I'll take a pic tomorrow, the camera needs batteries. Oh and I'm keeping them in the cutest little bag I got at Etsy.

Ciao!

No more orange yarn!!!

This is the last of the "pumpkin baby" things I've made. I still have about 2lbs of orange yarn left but I just can't do it. NO MORE ORANGE YARN!!! I simply cannot look at it anymore. Now its on to Christmas colors until they make me want to puke. FUN!!

American Girl Camo Top

I've had a few requests for the pattern, I'm sorry its taken so long to respond but I never wrote it down. So I took a look last night and you can just make the Spring Dress Pattern with these changes:

Use worsted weight yarn and a "H" hook.

Do not work the increases after the armhole shaping just keep crocheting around until you hit the length that you want the shirt. And work 2 rows of DC around the armholes to make the sleeves. I hope this helps, let me know if you need more info.
